2 minute read

After a pleasant meeting with Vlad Stan, who is only two years older than I am, the reality of the world in which we live struck me. Young people today do not realise what extraordinary chances and opportunities surround them.

I wish a course like this had existed eleven or fourteen years ago, when it might have changed the way I viewed business. To me, business is disgusting, however much anyone tries to cover it in gold leaf. By their nature, business and politics are dirty.

They are a necessary evil, but it depends upon us whether this outdated way of doing business becomes something capable of changing the foundations of the world in which we live.

A business should not be the work of one person alone, but of a group whose profits are shared equally. Then even the smallest part of its mechanism has an interest in seeing the enterprise develop. Yet we must not sell dreams as religions and politics do. This world has already endured enough filth.

There should be no incredibly wealthy or powerful people. There should be no idea of leaders, founders of religions or sons of God, still less of saints or perfect human beings. Even the dirtiest and most imperfect thing or creature in our existence is perfect in its essence.

This may sound like a communist way of thinking, although it might equally be called a religious view of existence. The world cannot be equal in its creation and existence, at least not outwardly. Within, however, everyone and everything that exists is equal, because at the level of existence we are interconnected through our essence, through the soul.

All the great founders of religions tried to affirm this and plant it within human souls. They saw the spark within every thing and every being, but also saw that we were not conscious of it, so they created methods intended to awaken and unlock our souls.

Some of those methods can be found in newer ways of viewing life and developing business, social media and technology. I have said before, and I repeat, that technology and science are not harmful. On the contrary, they provide mechanisms and opportunities that can ease the inner evolution of our world.

It depends upon us whether we learn to use them to liberate the soul and to master and transform the thousand-year-old thinking of the "herd" in which we live.
