2 minute read
When you truly love, your heart hurts, not your head, whenever an obstacle or trial enters your experience.
Only those who love with the head suffer in the head, because they think love rather than live it. For those who love with the heart, everything echoes within the heart. They experience love at another level.
The smallest change in the lives of those they love affects their entire existence. They weep with them, laugh with them, share their achievements and give their whole lives to their happiness.
Within heart and soul, they feel the smallest disturbance or sorrow experienced by those they love. Often, both say the same words at the same time or think about the same thing.
They are connected at another level. Their souls have known one another and wish to remain together for eternity, because the soul recognises no other measure of time. They are kindred souls.
Thought is always limited and will therefore create obstacles. It will consider the soul's experience a dream, unless the soul has already awakened or begun to receive flashes of the truth of its existence and of what makes it happy.
Thought throws itself towards petty ideals, professional achievement and the desire for knowledge. Yet these are phantoms, because true achievement and knowledge exist within you, not outside.
We may run for years, perhaps decades, towards forms of fulfilment that ultimately give us nothing. But until we see, we do not believe. Throughout this time, thought regards love as an obstacle.
Love means the death of the ego and the discovery of the soul.
If your heart has ever hurt because of someone you love, even though you believed you did not love them so deeply, then whatever the reason, you love with the heart.
Your soul can still be saved. It has not yet been defeated. It may be defeated temporarily, but in the end it will prevail, although only after great suffering.
God will never abandon His image and likeness to chance. He will give as many trials and sufferings as are needed for that soul to overcome thought.
