2 minute read
I see you. I close my eyes slowly, and your image settles across my soul. My inner world is papered with the lived experience created by the vision of you.
I wait for you to disappear slowly into the void of my soul, but instead, you melt like ice.
Deep silence surrounds my heart. A divine sound wells up within my head and slowly enters every cell of my body.
I try to remember who I am and why I can still think about my own existence. In the end, I realise that my self melted long ago at the touch of the lips of your existence. My life is being sung by angels everywhere around me.
I look towards the sky, the stars, the clouds, the trees and the flowers, but everything acquires your image.
Is this a dream, or does everything around me simply wish to merge with your image?
A muffled sound awakens me, and I look at myself as though at a stranger. Only your image returns me to reality.
I then understand that I am the dream, while you are the reality surrounding me. I deny the dream, and your image embraces me, awakening tremors of pleasure in every cell.
What within "me" actually belongs to me, when everything has been overtaken by your image? Even thought has fallen to its knees before you, like the knights of former times who suffered in silence for their princesses and the chosen women of their hearts.
I am, or I was, your image. Or perhaps experience is one with your image. Or perhaps my entire life is penetrated by your image.
I try to see where you actually exist within the reality of my life, but nowhere are you more real than in my inner universe.
Everything turns with precision and adoration around your image. Your image has become the altar of my existence, raising everything - absolutely everything - so close to the divine.
In the end, I can only allow myself to be absorbed by the abyss of your image's existence. Nothing remains, because you have absorbed my existence.
In truth, I know that I have fallen asleep. Only your image remains awake in the depths within.
"I" bow before you... love.
