3 minute read

Most of us speak to ourselves about a million things every day through our thoughts... In fact, I believe that all of us speak inwardly in this way.

Sometimes we become conscious of it and begin to laugh or, as the case may be, cry, especially if the inner advice led to a poor choice. What is certain is that this cloned 'I' within comforts us when we are sad and rejoices with us when we are happy. It also rebukes us when we are about to violate inner principles or move beyond our prejudices.

Because this doubled 'I' is within, we believe it belongs to us, although sometimes we sense that something is wrong. Why is it often mistaken when it analyses in detail, but not when direction appears through intuition? We therefore believe that the immense body of thought accumulated from our first moments of personal awareness until death is the person and character that was born and lived all that time. We believe it defines the name chosen by society and observed and analysed by others for years, until it disappears into non-being. We play many roles in life, and some of us are very good at it, far better than real actors. We play so well because we identify completely with the life we live. In this way, we accept what the wheel of destiny decided long before we became conscious of it. We do not understand that this is not our true 'I', only its reflection within the process of thought. The true I merely uses thought to be present in existence.

Love brings this awareness into our lives. The process of thought will say NO to this experience many times, while saying YES to material things. The heart, however, will feel something entirely different. You then discover another part within your body that seems independent of thought. How many apparently independent parts might exist within us? This is the true school that all of us should begin to attend in life: first discover our inner world, and only then make decisions or follow a destiny.

Love will often melt thought because it is abstract and incomprehensible to the logic of thought. Those who say that abstract logic exists are right, but it no longer belongs to the process of thought. It belongs to the heart, to the process of experience. Only in this way can we unite contradictions and attain inner peace, that meditation which allows the soul to reveal itself within. Thought can perceive only in opposites, not in unity. It cannot conceive YESNO, only YES and NO. Love thus unites inner and outer, bringing balance and peace to our lives.

My advice:

Look at thoughts as you would look at a flower. Do not analyse them, give them attention or enter their game. Simply observe them, and gradually, between them, you will find the reflection of your soul.

Then comes the question:

If I can discover my soul in those moments, who is conscious of its existence, if we are the ones observing this process?

Enough for today...

Melt your thinking, free your soul.
