1 minute read
I wept as I had never wept since the day I was born.
I wept with every cell in my body and with my soul, as though it were on the verge of vanishing completely into nothingness.
I wept as I did not weep even when my mother died.
I wept as Jesus may have felt upon the cross when he said, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani."
I wept as though everything around me were weeping, as though all existence were sharing in my suffering.
I wept as only the soul knows how to weep.
I wept, perhaps, for the rest of my life.
I wept because even the traces of lived experience had ceased to exist.
I wept until nothing remained of "me".
I wept as all of us should weep for what happens within our destiny.
I wept as the earth weeps for all the suffering our actions cause it.
I wept as though I had been born a second time.
I wept...
...but I wept together with Love.
