Destiny… Coincidence… or Chance…

For a particular thing to happen, the actions of several people must be synchronised to the second. Otherwise, the event would not produce the same ending or effect. We cannot therefore speak of accident or coincidence, but only of destiny.

Many things in our lives appear accidental. Yet a single action need only be delayed or fail to occur for the outcome or course of destiny to change, for good or for ill.

Our choices in every moment may therefore bring happiness or suffering. This is why remaining awake is so important. Above all, whatever we respect and place first should be connected with God and divinity.

All the apparent chaos around us is, in fact, highly ordered. Nothing happens by accident. Every choice corresponds to a sequence of future events that will influence our destiny.

This is why religions place such value upon retreat, prayer and meditation. When you act, you create visible causes and effects. When you do nothing and simply exist, everything appears to stand still.

Although action seems absent and causes and effects appear to disappear, the opposite occurs. A passive action emerges from stillness and non-manifestation, just as Creation itself appeared.

This action no longer belongs to thought or ego, but to the soul, and it will never fail or exist in vain. It is like allowing the current to carry you while refusing to influence the result through thought.

If the stories of Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad or other saints, masters and artists had followed a different course, history and the present would look entirely different. If Napoleon or Hitler had succeeded in their actions, the evolution of our civilisation would likewise have taken another form.

Although some events in our lives appear to be accidents or coincidences, nothing is truly left to chance.

Naturally, this raises the question: where does free choice enter? Certainly not into the development of major events.

We do possess a voice in our inner evolution, in our capacity to awaken, become aware and understand the events around us. We can choose to give our lives to an ideal that liberates the soul or to one that binds it.

We can choose between suffering and happiness, or between ignorance and awareness - awareness, not conscience.

The past and future are one and the same, just as "yes" and "no" can be understood as one. Although they appear opposite and dual, they can be united, just as everything that exists is woven from masculine and feminine.

The present moment, here and now, remains the only reality because it is the point at which past and future meet.

Many people wish to relive moments from the past, or to return to the past while retaining their present way of thinking. They do not realise that neither past nor future is important, and they fail to rejoice in the present.

Only the choice to be aware remains: to live our lives in full awareness and to become conscious of absolutely everything around us, even simple things such as eating, walking, the sky, the trees and our own breathing.

In this way, we will eventually perceive the divine in everything that surrounds us.
