Whatever God Wills…

"Whatever God wills" and "whatever has been written" are familiar expressions of surrender before obstacles or before the struggle usually required for fulfilment within the soul.

We rarely apply such sayings to material things. There, people do not advise us to stop fighting for a better life.

After considering these familiar expressions for a long time, I concluded that they are used only by people who do not wish to accept responsibility for their lived experience or their hearts.

It is much easier to place a decision that belongs entirely to you upon the shoulders of God, divinity or fate.

Material achievement genuinely requires luck as well as great struggle, while its satisfactions and the fulfilment it brings to the soul are minimal when there is no one with whom to share them. To find fulfilment in the lived experience of love requires far more, but above all, it requires your choice.

When you are blind to lived experience, it is understandable. But when the lived experience has already been realised and life gives you the chance both to become conscious of it and, above all, to fulfil it, you can no longer blame anyone or transfer responsibility for your actions to divinity.

Anyone who causes a soul to suffer in this world may blame someone else, but they should not deny responsibility for what they have done.

When you give yourself completely to the lived experience of love, many things in your life change. When you devote yourself to a spiritual life, you learn to understand and accept suffering as well as happiness.

Suffering is the shortest road towards spiritual fulfilment. No one who suffered because of love or devoted themselves to religious life ultimately failed to find spiritual fulfilment, because suffering brings you closer to God.

When everything else abandons you, God alone remains beside you to soothe your suffering.

Many people say they loved truly and nevertheless suffered in the end because the beloved chose something else. But true love means giving love complete freedom, without limits or conditions.

Above all, it means perceiving the divine within love. Otherwise, it remains ordinary human love.

Others understand only late, after great suffering, how gravely they erred and that the error came precisely from the superficial way in which they treated love.

When you refuse conscious and complete love - not love treated like a material achievement - it becomes difficult, perhaps impossible, to find another person with whom you can experience love at a spiritual level.

Why does this happen? Because most of us are selfish and believe everything belongs to us rather than being given.

This is the source of both our suffering and our ignorance. You know that choosing material fulfilment will not make you happy and that you are losing the most beautiful thing in existence, yet you choose like a blind person who has never seen the world and does not know its appearance.

You spit upon love, curse it and do everything possible to make the other soul suffer, while believing that you deserve everything in this world.

When love gives you its final lesson, you continue behaving in the same way. Afterwards, you wonder why love no longer happens to you and, above all, you rejoice in the other soul's suffering before love.

But if you must suffer, suffer for love, for the blood of God.

Someone devoted completely to the lived experience of love will neither rejoice in nor desire the suffering of the soul they love. On the contrary, they will sacrifice themselves so that happiness may soothe the beloved soul.

In the end, love depends upon your choice: whether you wish to be nursed by the lived experience of it, or whether you renounce that lived experience and spend the rest of your life beating upon its gates, asking for mercy and for even one drop of love to fill your life.
